Eric Pogreba retired from the U.S. Army in 2010 after 21 years of service, where he served primarily as a Military Intelligence Officer. He then transitioned to Operations as a Senior Information Operations Planner and spent over six years as a federal contractor and an additional year as a Department of the Army Civilian. Eric has over 23 years of experience with intelligence and operations staff elements and has led joint teams comprised of all U.S. military services and civilian elements during his government career.
Eric deployed to Iraq four times in support of Operations DESERT SHIELD / STORM and IRAQI FREEDOM for a total of two and a half years. He has experience at the tactical and operational level as a Combat Engineer responsible for breaching obstacles and destroying tons of unexploded ordinance in the first Gulf War and serving with the 101st Airborne Division Officer as an Intelligence Officer for the first year of the second Gulf War. He also has experience at the strategic level where he served an additional year in Baghdad where he directly supervised all four branches of the U.S. Armed Services as the MNF-I Watch Officer and personally briefed the senior Intelligence General Officer in Iraq on a daily basis.
As a Federal contractor, Eric was a Senior Information Operations Planner serving on a Regional Support Team where he provided direct support and training to over 15 Field Support Teams (FST) who deployed to Afghanistan, Iraq, and Africa. Additionally, he was a Senior Scenario Developer for the Mission Readiness Exercise section where he wrote over 10 scenarios based on the current operational situation in Iraq, Afghanistan, East Africa, and North West Africa. He also provided direct support to deployed FSTs by fusing intelligence reports with operational requirements which were used for operational planning efforts in several active theaters where U.S. Special Forces are deployed.
Eric finished his Federal Service as a Department of Army Civilian where he served as the Chief of Operations for his unit, responsible for all daily operations reports which tracked the deployment of FSTs, Cyber Opposition Forces Teams, Vulnerability Assessment Teams, and Operations Security Support and Training Teams. His additional duties included serving as the Continuity of Operations Program Manager as well as the Force Management Planner where he managed the deployment and exercise requirements for his entire unit.
